Please find attached a screenshot of drupal.org's most popular pages (most
popular referrers) as gathered by the statistics module. There is lot we
can learn from these. For example:

1. A lot of people (user + developers) search drupal.org.
2. A lot of people (prospects) view the screenshots.
3. A lot of people (users) download contributed modules.
4. There is a gap between entry 5 (project) and 6 (forum).

Also, a small (usability) improvement to any of these pages or modules
would have significant impact. Suggestions?

1. A lot of people (user + developers) search drupal.org.
And in many cases they are not finding what they need.

Could Dries or Kjartan install the trip_search.module (see Contrib) at
drupal.org? It won't interfere with the current search module at all, but
it will give us a chance to do a side by side comparison. trip_search is
far simpler because it does not maintain an index. Id love to see how
trip_search performs against a large database like drupal.org

i'll keep thinking of usability improvements to the top pages.

I find it annoying that there are three entries for www.drupal.org,
drupal.org, and www.drupal.org/.

Cheers,
