PHP BB integration: who did this?

Hi,

I am looking to set up an MP3 portal, and for that i looked at foing
(http://foing.sourceforge.net/). I think this is a very nice tool, foir
it has great features.
A minor drawback is that it does not have any CMS in it. It totally
relys on PHPBB for its cMs.
This is a problem, but in the same time creates great opportunities. I
now someone got a PHPBB included in drupal, SO I think it must not be
too difficult to make foing work with drupal instead of PHPBB.

Can the person who tried this get back to me, and help me on the road?
I'm looking for:
What where severe difficulties in getting data from a PHPBB database?
What were solutions for this?
Do the Architecture of Drupal and of PHPBB clash? I mean: is there a
problem in arcitecture design that causes so big problems that eaither
one of them needs its core rewritten?

Is anyone else interested in helping with this project?
